Talal – Composite [Deepwibe Underground]

Celebrating their 100th release, Deepwibe Underground welcomes Talal to the label for his debut EP. With a career that spans the better part of two decades, Talal has taken his far reaching sound to Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Solee's Future Romance, Renaissance and Spectrum (NL). Also, highly regarded as a DJ, Talal has toured the world, with Robot Hearts Further Future Festival, New Zealand's Shipwrecked Festival and Cream Amnesia Ibiza being just a few of the notable stops in his gig diary. Now, getting 2023 off to an impressive start, Talal makes his Deepwibe Underground debut with a two-track showcase entitled 'Composite'.

The EP gets underway with 'Perceptions' which finds Talal crafting a sleek, meditative slice of progressive house. A full, warm groove lays the foundation for effervescent percussion and rolling rhythms to build momentum. It’s this infectious swing which ultimately sets the stage for icy pads and a myriad of fascinating effects to unite across an otherworldly break, before segueing into a key changing finale.

The release concludes with the title selection 'Composite' which lands with an equally impressive display of craftsmanship. Talal's instinctive ability to tip a dance floor over the edge is reaffirmed with emotive chord changes and balmy atmospherics blanketing rolling grooves, disorienting arps and timely percussive flashes. Complete with a memorable break and cerebral electronics, it's an adrenalized energy-rush for the ages - one where Talal lands sounding better than ever. Highly recommended.
