Stas Drive – Kite on a Pure Heaven Remixes [Superordinate Music]

The latest release on Superordinate Music finds the label presenting new interpretations of Stas Drive's 'Kite On A Pure Heaven'. Originally released in February of 2016 it marked the debut of the Ukrainian artist on the label. Support from Sasha and Petar Dundov along with a top Beatport chart entry made the release a huge success. Now we see the label inviting Matter and Robert R. Hardy to reinvent the track for 2017.

Matter has been very hot of late and for the last few years really. He's one of those artists who has found a distinctive sound and it's working amazingly well in the progressive underground. Given how great the original was, this seems like a match made in heaven and it's turned out wonderfully. The Australian's fluid cadence is a hallmark and it's certainly evident here with silky lines and rolling grooves anchoring the piece. The effects prove to be quite stunning; dramatic and with great character but the star of this remix is no doubt the centrepiece with its emotive qualities and mild cross-cultural motifs. Definitely goose bump material which leads to an amazing finale.

The release concludes with Superordinate label artist Robert R. Hardy returning for his 37th appearance. Fresh off the release of his chart topping debut LP for SoulArt Recordings the Hungarian artist continues to bring his magic touch with a great interpretation of 'Kite On a Pure Heaven'. Like all of Robert's music an incredibly well shaped and unique groove sits at the foundation. A lot of Robert's material does touch on the deeper spectrum of progressive house but this one is pretty epic. Big growling bass stabs, frayed vocal motifs and warm atmospheric swells make for a magical eight minute journey. 

Two amazing remixes and perhaps the best release from Superordinate Music all year. Highly Recommended.
