Sajith Prakash – Kerala [Eat My Hat Music]

The latest release from Ziger’s Eat My Hat Music welcomes Sajith Prakash back to the label for a new EP. Based in Bangalore, the Indian artist made his debut on the Greek imprint in April of this year with the well received ‘Bolivian Diary’ EP. The two track showcase proved to be a highlight in Sajith’s discography with both selections shooting to the top of his Beatport Best Sellers chart. Now following an EP for Madloch’s Future Avenue imprint, Sajith lands back on Eat My Hat with the much anticipated ‘Kerala’.

Sajith’s career momentum continues to rise with the lead track ‘Kerala’. Backed by warm beats and a smooth rolling groove, it’s got infectious energy from the outset. Its deep drive is encased in a perfect balance of electric rhythms, finely tuned percussion and misty melodies. As momentum builds, sweeping effects add depth and character, before eventually segueing into a timely break. Clocking in at nearly two minutes in length the interlude proves impactful, gracefully melting down to a bed of effervescent melodies and aquatic designs, as a rush of noise cues an atmospheric finale.

The release concludes in fine fashion with the pulsating sounds of ‘God’s Own Country’. Beginning with perfectly sculpted beats and chugging rhythms, it’s a production that’s immediately compelling from the start. Chirping effects and emotive chord changes advance the narrative as the first act evolves, eventually unveiling a gorgeous melodic lead. The main break takes you further into heartfelt territory with delicate vocal phrasing and creamy keys creating a hopeful vibe, eventually propelling the track to a dreamy finale. Smooth and charming in equal measure, it rounds out what is an inspired two track showcase from Sajith Prakash, who continues to rise up through the progressive house landscape as 2021 moves into its second half.
