Rauschhaus – Visionary [ICONYC]

John Johnson's ICONYC returns this week, welcoming Rauschhaus to the label for his debut EP. There are few artists in the progressive underground who are hotter than Rauschhaus at the moment. The German producer has been a constant fixture of the Beatport charts for the last two years and has showcased his music on Beatfreak Recordings, Eleatics Records, Einmusika Recordings, Timeless Moment and Stil Vor Talent. Now landing on ICONYC for a long overdue debut, Rauschhaus presents his 'Visionary' EP.

Beginning with the groovy, astral sounds of 'Epiphyse' it’s clear that Rauschhaus is on fine form here. Fresh and dramatic across it’s near eight minute running time, it’s a cosmic delight with spacey arps, vibrant stabs and an icy atmospheric tapestry. A stripped second act would be the highlight though, melting down to muted beats and a sequence of tripped out designs, it's a feast for the senses and no doubt magic on the dance floor.

Following a similar sonic ethos and rounding out the release is the title selection 'Visionary'. Although dark and dramatic at the outset it's a narrative that eventually reaches a subtle yet powerful emotive peak. Setting that in motion however is a bed of rippling bass and fiery electronics. Psychedelic in design yet remarkably progressive, the introduction of an ethereal topline is what seals it's brilliance. Perfectly playing off tasteful tones and a kaleidoscopic arp for an unforgettable break. A stunning creation from Rauschhaus which caps off a hugely successful ICONYC debut for the German artist. Highly recommended.
