R/Tistique – Brainstorm [Inspired By Trees]

Inspired By Trees rounds out 2020 by welcoming R/Tistique back to the label for his debut single. The Dutch artist made his debut on the Swiss imprint in August of this year with a remix of Avasono's 'Terrace'. Well received, the remix found favour with Danny Tenaglia, Edu Imbernon, Guy J, Quivver and other top international artists. Now returning to the label, the Amsterdam resident present his new single 'Brainstorm', alongside a remix from Dole & Kom.

If you take a listen to R/Tistique's discography you immediately notice that his music doesn't fit into one genre. Elements of techno, progressive, electronica and more resonate from his creations, with 'Brainstorm' being a great example of that. Thumping kicks, twangy tones and deliberate percussion make for a powerful, DJ friendly beginning. Clocking in at nine minutes it's definitely a journey and one of constant evolution, whether it be through the use of timely effects, emotive chord changes or a heady lead which drops following a short, tension filled break. Definitely one for the astute connoisseur and a production you'll want to enjoy several times over.

Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation is Dole & Kom who also return to the label. The German duo made their Inspired By Trees debut in May of this year with the 'Around' single. With a partnership that now spans close to three decades, Dole & Kom have played some of Germany's most storied venues such as Tresor and E-Werk, while also releasing their music on 3000 Grad Records, Akbal and Bar 25. Now returning to the label they deliver a lively rendition of 'Brainstorm'. Remarkably buoyant and undeniably timeless, it’s a mix that complements the original beautifully, while adding space and depth through exotic drums and tribal rhythms. A buzzing lead beams brightly; striking at opportune moments and perfectly setting up a break that is both dramatic and emotive. Fresh and catchy throughout, it's really hard to see this not getting a great dance floor reaction. It caps off not only a solid release but an excellent year for Inspired By Trees. Don't miss it.
