Praveen Achary – Sonar (Mir Omar Remix) [Yang]

The latest from Tripp Baronner's Yang imprint finds Mir Omar updating Praveen Achary's 'Sonar'. Originally released in April of this year on one of progressive music's most storied franchises in Balkan Connection, it found the Indian artist and Juicebox Music label boss crafting a memorable slice of melodic house. It's chunky groove and playful melodies rounded out what was a strong EP in 'Subside'.

Residing in New York, Mir Omar has carved out a unique place in the progressive house landscape. His emotive creations have already earned the praise of Herman Cattaneo and landed him releases on Solarstone’s Pure Progressive imprint and John O’Callaghan’s Subculture. Now following a remix for Madloch's Sound Avenue, Mir makes his return to Yang in fine style with a silky rendition of 'Sonar'. Backed by a smoother, more fluid foundation, the serene themes slowly melt their way into your subconscious, while pulsating rhythms and warm beats keep energy at a premium. An expansive break works wonders, flowing through astral effects and hazy harmonics, before the pixie-like motifs slowly get washed away as a gentle wave of noise ignites a tepid rush and cosmic finale. A wonderful rendition from Mir Omar who has certainly found a nice home on Yang and remains one of progressive music's most exciting new talents. Highly recommended.
