Releases Nicolas Benedetti – Symmetrie [Just Movement] By Release Promo Posted on 17th May 2021 6 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin The latest release from Just Movement welcomes Nicolas Benedetti to the label for his debut single. Based in Buenos Aires, the Argentinean artist's first foray into music production began in 2018 under the tutelage of well-known progressive house artist Andrea Cassino. Releases via 3rd Avenue and Massive Harmony Records soon followed in 2019, before stepping up to Balkan Connection and Droid9 for key outings in 2020 and 2021 respectively. Now continuing to build an impressive resume, Nicolas debuts on Just Movement with 'Symmetrie' alongside a remix from Simos Tagias. Beginning with the title cut Nicolas crafts one of the most emotive productions of his career. Driving and heady from the outset, it's perfectly sculpted bass stabs and dynamic percussion strike a dramatic chord. Wispy electronics and a soft atmospheric glow balance out the robust groove, as smooth chord changes flow through the framework with the main break approaching. Clocking in at nearly two minutes in length, the centrepiece melts down to a bed of effervescent electronics, adding emotional depth while building anticipation towards a commanding drop and groovy finale. The lone interpretation of 'Symmetrie' is provided by Simos Tagias who returns to the label for his fourth appearance. As one of the most recognized names in progressive house, the Greek artist has landed releases on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music and Cid Inc's Replug Records. 2014 marked the Athens resident's Just Movement debut with a remix of 'Regeneration' by Stergios, before returning for a second remix in 2017 and eventually his first EP project 'Feel Alive' in 2018. Now landing back on the Dutch imprint for a third remix, Simos dials in a stellar rendition of 'Symmetrie'. Fluid and atmospheric from the outset, it doesn't take long to get sucked into it's full, free flowing groove and percussive flurries. Evolving masterfully across its eight-minute running time, the distinctive chord changes and fluttery melodies play an impactful role here, building nostalgic emotions leading into the break. The centrepiece adds beautifully to the story with a wall of melodious bass anchoring a swirling blend of colourful atmospheres and melodic fragments, before a tasteful peak summons a reflective final act. A lovely interpretation from Simos which caps off a memorable Just Movement debut for Nicolas Benedetti, a producer to keep a close eye on as 2021 moves forward.
