Monojoke returns to Deersky's Soundteller Records with the much anticipated 'Point of No Return'. The Polish artist has become a regular contributor to the Polish imprint since making his debut in January of 2014. Now a veteran of the progressive music underground, the Cracow resident routinely earns play and support from the genre's top tastemakers Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Guy J. Now following a release on Antrim's Or Two Strangers to begin the year Monojoke returns to Soundteller with a new three track artist showcase.

Monojoke has already gained considerable recognition for his colourful, melodic sound and this sentiment will certainly grow with ‘Planet of Yesterday’. Anchored by a warm kick, it’s rhythmic core rises quickly, with layers of effervescent percussion and feel good phrases filling in the framework. Monojoke's unique design and distinctive melodies have forged a sound that is all his own and it's one that almost always wins you over. Nostalgic moods fill the main break while buzzing textures and hypnotic percussion build to a euphoric apex, before dropping out into a tranquil energy bridge and groovy drop.

The EP’s midway point finds Monojoke exploring more gorgeous melodic textures with ‘The Roots of all Evil’. It’s chunky groove is perfectly carved, characterized by rippling contours and rolling undulation. Smooth yet powerful, it provides the perfect foundation for waves of harmonic colour and spastic effects to steal the air, ultimately setting up a powerful build and effervescent rush out of the main break, onwards to a driving finale.

Rounding out the release are the smooth, hypnotic vibes of title cut ‘Point of No Return’. Monojoke's boundless creativity fuels this meditative gem as dulcet beats, rolling rhythms and frayed percussion unite for a robust core. Buzzing synths and ghostly overlays then advance the narrative, splitting moods between the surreal and thoughtful, perfectly setting up another epic break and euphoric conclusion. Perhaps a touch less pronounced than it's predecessors it leaves a little bit to the imagination which is always a welcome quality for the more astute listener. It rounds out an inspired collection of music from Monojoke, making for a brilliant return on Deersky's Soundteller Records that’s not to be missed.
