Mind Echoes – Get On Board [Comet Records]

Comet Records continues a strong first year by welcoming Mind Echoes to the label for his debut EP. At just three releases into their journey the Pakistani imprint has already found their place in the progressive house underground, earning support from Armen Miran, Armin Van Buuren, Gai Barone, Mind Against and more. The labels third offering features Mind Echoes who arrives as one Brazil's most promising new artists. First coming to our attention in 2022 with a contribution to the Transensations 'Transenses IV' collection, the Fortaleza resident now lands on Comet Records with a two track showcase entitled 'Get On Board'.

Destined to be a highlight in Mind Echoes' discography, it is the melodic stylings of the title track 'Get On Board' which gets the release underway. Electrically charged from the outset, its rolling rhythmic structures, striking electronics and thumping groove set the piece on a course for aural enlightenment. Astral arps and haunting pads rise across the first act, carrying momentum and mood into the main break. The main arp continues to delight across the centrepiece, creating a looping hypnotism, before tranquil overlays and deconstructed vocals set up a cosmic finale.

The companion piece 'With Me' closes out the release and continues to showcase a strong progressive sound. Mind Echoes classic groove style works well here, creating massive amounts of swing and rhythm which multiples over the first act. Siting at the heart of the journey is an expansive break which brings a near two full minutes of melodic bliss, working through tranquil textures and dreamy dulcet hooks, elegantly peaking as looping vocals and filtered effects reveal the chugging groove for a smooth finish. It rounds out two impressive and complementary tracks from Mind Echoes and Comet Records, an artist and label who are rising in the world of progressive house at an impressive rate.
