Mauro Masi & Julian Liander – Desai [Stellar Fountain]

The latest offering from Stellar Fountain finds Mauro Masi & Julian Liander collaborating a new single. Hailing from Argentina, Mauro and Julian are no strangers to Stellar Fountain, with a combined five appearances on the Hungarian imprint, while also calling AMITABHA, Nature Rec, Seven Villas, Souksonic and more home. Now returning to the label to continue building on their collaborative efforts, Mauro and Julian present 'Desai', alongside remixes from Tojogo and Nicolas Giordano.

Getting the release underway with the original mix, the duo marries buoyant beats and organic grooves with whimsical vocal fragments and soulful musical concepts. Pronounced and warm throughout, an enticing selection of exotic percussion pushes momentum forward, while shimmering arrays and effervescent artefacts provide all the magic you could ever want during a memorable break.

Making his label debut with first interpretation of 'Desai' is Tojogo. The UK artist comes off releases for 3rd Avenue, Future Avenue and Nordic Voyage with a gorgeous remix here. The Bristol resident adds a housier touch with a funked up groove, clattering percussion and great use of the vocal elements. A glowing break sits at the heart of the track, bringing greater emotional depth, before smoothly segueing into a playful finale.

The release concludes with Nicolas Giordano making his label debut with the second and final remix of 'Desai'. The Buenos Aires resident boasts an impressive discography with projects for -102C, Cigarette Music and RYNTH to his credit. For his Stellar Fountain debut Nicolas toughens up the framework with punchier beats and low slung groove. The low end muscle is nicely offset with strummy lead themes and soulful atmospheric phrasing across the break, making for the release's most musical moment. A gorgeous rendition from Nicolas which caps off another impressive collaborative project from Mauro Masi & Julian Liander. Don't miss it.
