MacIntyre’s SLC-6 Music closes out the spring season by presenting new interpretations of ‘Elka’ by Mattias Herrera. Hailing from Argentina, Mattias Herrera first emerged in 2020 with a release via Balkan Connection's United division, following years of perfecting his craft under the guidance of Claudio Cornejo (Analog Jungs) and Ezequiel Arias. Success came quickly thereafter for the La Rioja resident, as only a few short months later progressive house icon Nick Warren signed an EP project from Mattias to his highly regarded The Soundgarden, a label where he has returned for two follow-up projects. SLC-6 has also been a landing spot for Mattias, with his label debut ‘Elka’, a progressive cut with colourful overlays, ethereal vocal fragments and percolating effects highlighting 2024’s SIX: Stage-19 collection. Now, looking to breathe new life into the track for 2025’s summer season, SLC-6 invites Juani Ramirez and Tom Pavicich to provide their own unique interpretations. First up Juani Ramirez returns to the label fresh off a remix of January’s ‘Martian Boogie’ by SLC-6 label boss D.J. MacIntyre and rising Sri Lankan talent Dr Green. Noted for his uplifting approach, the Mendoza resident finds a perfect balance of classic progressive grooves, melodic fragments and gaseous atmospheres, resulting in a worthy complement to the original. Rounding out the release is Tom Pavicich who returns to the SLC-6 following ‘Insight’, his label debut which landed in May of this year. Hailing from Argentina but currently based in Germany, the emerging talent aims squarely for a peak-hour dancefloor, crafting a perfect amalgamation of kaleidoscopic melodies and otherworldly effects which marry beautifully across a heartfelt finale.
