Matteo Gargallo – Inner Truth [Dopamine White]

Nikko.Z's Dopamine White welcomes Matteo Gargallo to the label for his debut single 'Inner Truth'. Hailing from Italy, Matteo Gargallo has been pushing his brand of high-octane electronic music for well over a decade. A focus on tech and electro house early on in Matteo's career morphed into the present-day trend setting sounds of melodic house and techno. Parquet Recordings, Krafted Underground and Stellar Fountain have been landing spots of late, providing a vehicle for the Italian's infectious grooves. Now adding Dopamine White to his resume Matteo debuts on the label with 'Inner Truth', alongside remixes from Christian Monique and Pavlin Petrov.

Beginning with the original Mix, Matteo crafts a cosmic slice of melodic house and techno. Anchored by a punchy groove, shapeshifting atmospheres and sizzling rhythms, it's mysterious yet inviting from the outset. Evolving with an astral flair, arcane effects and striking sonics unite to create a compelling narrative leading into the main break. Fragmented arps and heady artifacts highlight the centrepiece, adding a prophetic vibe in the process, while tastefully tense modulation and a moment of calm initiate a groove-centric drop and rumbling finale.

Returning to the label and providing the first interpretation is Christian Monique. As one of Italy's most recognized progressive house producers, Christian lays claim to an extensive discography highlighted by releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, 3rd Avenue, Droid9 and Nature Rec. Having made his label debut last year with a well received remix of 'Stolen Dreams' by Dany Dz, Christian returns with an equally impressive take on 'Inner Truth'. While keeping the heady nature of the original in mind, Christian shapes a more progressive minded narrative with a fuller groove, layers of detailed percussion and a warmer environment overall. Smooth chord changes provide an emotive bridge into the main break where delicate arps and wispy sonics create a surreal sonic environment, before eventually breaking off into an uplifting finale.

The release concludes with Pavlin Petrov making his label debut and providing the second and final interpretation of 'Inner Truth'. Hailing from Bulgaria, Pavlin grew up inspired by the sounds of Jean Michel Jarre and Vangleis, before discovering progressive house and techno in 2008. After years of honing his production skills Pavlin emerged in 2013 with releases via Beatblock and Mystic Carousel Records, before going on to land projects with Bedrock, Bonzai and Deepersense Music. Following on from the March release of his latest Vesta Records vehicle 'Tears of Light', Pavlin debuts on Dopamine White with a stunning interpretation of 'Inner Truth'. Taking a cue from the original, the Bulgarian artist crafts a shapely groove and rolling rhythmic core. Gaining momentum across the first act, the piece flows through striking stabs and devilish effects, before shifting energy into an expansive break. Otherworldly in nature, its hypnotic state of mind melts down into an array of effects and haunting pads, captivating the listener with each successive pass, before a timely drum roll reveals the pulsating groove for a magical dance floor moment. A powerful remix from Pavlin, which rounds out an impressive Dopamine White debut for Matteo Gargallo.
