Matias Larrosa, Martin Gardoqui, Samuel Dezus – Internal Universe [Auditen Music]

Dynacom's Auditen Music returns with a fresh collaborative EP from Matias Larrosa, Martin Gardoqui and Samuel Dezus. This talented Argentinean trio owns a collective discography highlighted by releases on Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records, Lonya's Asymmetric Recordings and GU Music. Now making their much anticipated collaborative debut on Auditen Music, the trio present their 'Internal Universe' EP.

Beginning the title cut the trio explores a more hypnotic side of their studio repertoire. Free and flowing from the outset it’s warm, well contoured low end provides momentous swing, while playful hooks, neatly tailored percussion and timely effects fill in the framework. Stripping down into the main break, the melodic narrative expands, opening up an emotional reservoir of haunting pads and effervescent electronics, before effortlessly shifting energy into a classy drop.

The second selection ‘Karman Lines’ follows a similar sonic ethos with a leaning into deeper territory. Beginning with a warm rolling groove, the piece moves with discernible momentum as layers of drums, vocal fragments and astral effects converge for a hearty rhythmic core. Charming pads and elegant atmospheres flow beautifully into a short yet dramatic break, perfectly resetting the groove for a mesmerizing finale.

The release concludes with ‘Mercurio’ which presents a myriad of emotions across its eight minute journey. Aptly titled the '2AM Mix', it begins with an ominous vibe as mounds of bass, waves of percussion and devilish motifs converge for a dark storyboard. Cross cultural wails and wispy atmospherics elevate the mood during a second act bridge, before melting down into an otherworldly centrepiece led by a spiritual vocal. It rounds out a superb collection of music from three of Argentina's finest in Matias Larrosa, Martin Gardoqui and Samuel Dezus. A great signing for Dynacom and Auditen Music who continue to be one of the underground's top progressive house imprints. Highly recommended.
