Luciano Pelliza – Solvent Frequencies [Or Two Strangers]

Antrim’s Or Two Strangers imprint opens the spring season by welcoming Luciano Pelliza back to the label for a new EP. Hailing from Argentina, Luciano Pelliza has emerged from his country’s progressive house scene as an artist to watch. A pair of releases in 2022 via Transensations and Or Two Strangers affiliate Strangers Beats brought attention to the talented Cordoba resident, a rising force who had firmly established a groovy yet melodic take on the genre. Moving forward, 2023 proved to be a breakout year for Luciano, as built on that early momentum with a consistent and much more prolific release schedule, one highlighted by projects for Deep Down Music and Droid9, amongst others. Continuing to rise into 2024 the Cordoba resident would make his debut on Or Two Strangers with ‘The Universe Just for Us’, a three-track showcase which would lead to projects for La Foresta Recordings and One of A Kind. With 2025 getting underway with ‘Taste Me’, an EP for Droid9 South America, Luciano now returns to Or Two Strangers for a new artist showcase ‘Solvent Frequencies’.

Comprised of three stylized productions, it is the groovy monochromes of the title selection which set the tone for the release. Luciano crafts a deeply moving piece, complete with vibrant tonal pulses, driving percussion and a splash of pyrotechnic effects, the latter of which makes for a heady first act. Building tension and anticipation in equal measure, the main break is sure to command the attention of a dancefloor, through rising modulation and siren-like synth flairs, which forecasts an intense finale.

Selection two ‘Succession’ lands in equally intense fashion, once again showcasing Luciano’s penchant for sophisticated sound design, as muscular beats and thunderous basslines set the foundation for perverse synth mutations to drive what is a heady club-effective cut.

The third and final selection ‘Secret Moments’ makes its presence felt immediately through warm beats and rebounding rhythms, which provide a resounding thump early on. These sturdy anchors chart the course for creamy melodies, haunting atmospheric refrains and ghostly effects to work their magic across an explorative eight-minute running time.
