The latest release from Just Movement finds Lio Q & Nicolas Leonelli collaborating on a new single ‘Simbiotyc’. With a collective discography that includes releases on Balkan Connection, Bonzai, LouLou Records and Superordinate Music, the Argentinean duo now pair up for their debut single alongside remixes from Nicolas Barbieri, Juan Sapia and MarceloPM.

‘Simbiotyc’ represents’ the meeting of two creative minds for the first time and the end result is an acid groover that’s perfectly dialled for the dance floor. Dark and dramatic from the outset, it’s DJ friendly intro is complemented with a rumbling acidic underbelly and finely tuned percussion. Long grainy sweeps add a cosmic feel as timely effects and exotic drums wrap around the framework. The narrative shifts as the main break unfolds with harmonic overlays and ghostly vocal samples uniting in a symphony of sound, before twisted modulation sparks a timely drop and epic finale.

Returning to the label and providing the first interpretation is Nicolas Barbieri. Having delivered his ‘Flying Soul’ EP for the Dutch imprint in August the Argentinian artist also lays claim to releases on Michael A’s Genesis Music and BCSA. Now providing his first remix for Just Movement, the Buenos Aires resident opts for a sleeker more percussive rendition. The acidic feel remains but a reworked low end and fragmented atmospherics add a trippier feel overall, while the main break adds just the right emotional touch.

Juan Sapia returns to the label for the second remix following a stunning EP for Antrim’s Or Two Strangers imprint. The Argentinean artist continues to rise with a mix that complements its predecessors quite nicely. A warm, reshaped groove brings it closer to a contemporary dance floor while reprocessed vocals add a more ethereal vibe to the journey. Perhaps the most emotive moment on the release lies during the break with the vocal narrative expanding further, elevating mood in a profound way before the beats drop for a percussive finale.

Rounding out the release and providing the third and final interpretation is MarceloPM. The Argentinean artist is fresh off his ‘New Land’ EP for the Dutch imprint and now returns with a hypnotic take on ‘Simbiotyc’. Beginning with punchy beats and crisp design the piece moves forward with a driving momentum. It’s foreboding groove gets nicely complemented with vocal fragments and drifting overlays, before a trippy break shifts energy into an exhilarating third act. A superb remix from MarceloPM which rounds out this excellent all Argentinean release from Just Movement. Don’t miss it.
