Lily Pita – Come to Me [Soundteller Records]

The latest from Deersky’s Soundteller Records finds Lily Pita continuing her amazing streak with a new single entitled ‘Come With Me’. The Indonesian artist has had an incredible year highlighted by releases on Bedrock Records and Glasgow Underground. Now fresh off an EP on Canada’s Strange Town Recordings, Lily makes her much anticipated Soundteller debut alongside remixes from Hot TuneiK, Paul Hamilton and Silinder.

Although Lily has found a place in the progressive house underground her productions are broader in scope than that label suggests. ‘Come With Me’ is an excellent example with it’s quirky hooks, rolling arps and funky groove. Unabashedly epic at points, synths soar and modulation follows suit for surefire dance floor magic.

Hot TuneiK has been popping up on Soundteller quite a lot recently. Just last week his remix of ‘Broken Melodies’ by Julian Rodriguez and Frankie M was released and now across two versions he reinvents ‘Come With Me’. The Mexican’s smooth, rolling cadence is on full display here with the main elements getting chopped into gorgeous motifs before a poignant break pushes the emotion up a notch. The Dub meanwhile brings the atmosphere down just a touch but keeps the spirit of the main mix well intact. Both top notch versions.

Dubai based Paul Hamilton is next and opens the groove up quite nicely. Always an artist to bring a production closer to the dancefloor Paul’s chunky bass stabs, growling synths and spiralling electronics create a cosmic environment. You get a real sense of how powerful the groove is at the drop, perfectly set up with a smooth, meditative break and no unnecessary build. Definitely a magical moment.

The release concludes with long time Soundteller artist Silinder returning to the label following a great remix for John Johnson’s ICONYC. In going deeper and more emotive the Irish producer has complemented the previous versions really well and also closed the package off on a reflective tone. The bass stabs are contoured to perfection and the melodic elements beam brightly from start to finish. Likely one of Silinder’s most heartfelt remixes ever in fact. A solid release once again from Deersky’s Soundteller Records who continue in fine form as 2017 winds to a close.
