Levithar – Native Thought [B4U Records]

B4U Records begins their 2020 journey by welcoming Levithar back to the label for her second EP. Hailing from Cali, the Colombian artist first appeared on the Colombian imprint in March of last year with the well received 'Ursa'. Supported by some of progressive music's premiere tastemakers such as Sasha and Guy J, Levithar now returns to B4U for her second artist EP 'Native Thought / No More Cry'.

Sitting in the creative space between deep and progressive house is 'Native Thought'. Coming in at a smooth tempo, it's a deep, soulful and incredibly charming eight-minute journey. Elegant motifs, fragmented vocals and wispy atmospheres adorn what is a sultry, irresistible groove. Exotic percussion pushes momentum forward, while fluttery melodic concepts highlight the main break, providing the perfect prelude to a glowing final act.

Operating on a similar emotional plane is the companion piece 'No More Cry'. From a DJ friendly intro comes elegant atmospheres and redolent shades, slowly descending over low slung bass swells, dulcet beats and organic drums. As the narrative evolves so too does its emotive appeal, with creamy chord stabs adding rhythm and musicality. Soulful vocal phrases shift the narrative during the main break, before smoothly segueing into a buoyant yet dreamy final act. It caps off an amazing EP from Levithar who is fast becoming one of Colombia's best new talents.
