MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music rounds out the month of May by showcasing new interpretations of 'Askeza' and 'Ecliptica' by Lena Storm. Released as part of the label’s ‘SIX: Stage-18’ and ‘SIX: Stage-24’ collections respectively, the two melodic techno cuts found the Russian artist operating at her creative and club-effective best. The former, ‘Askeza' showcases a prophetic blend of punishing beats, dark stabs, sci-fi vocals and a memorable break which is sure to captivate the dance floor. Meanwhile, 'Ecliptica' furthers the Moscow resident’s production prowess with cross-cultural vocals taking centrestage, creating a prophetic quality which melds perfectly with energized beats, dynamic percussion and crunchy club-effective framework. Now, looking to breathe new life into the tracks for the impending summer season, SLC-6 Music invites Ramiro Alvarez, Tryger and John Joshua & Uberphat to provide their own unique interpretations. Returning to the label for the first remix of 'Askeza' is Ramiro Alvarez. Having first appeared on SLC-6 with a remix of ‘Osiris' by D.J. MacIntyre and G.O.D.A. in 2024, the Argentinean talent continues to be a creative remixer, putting a traditional progressive spin on ‘Askeza’ with warm rolling grooves, growling synths and a thunderous drop to bring fuel to the dancefloor. Providing the lone interpretation of ‘Ecliptica’ is Tryger who returns to the label for his second appearance following his ‘Punta’ EP from February of this year. Aptly coined ‘Sandstorm’ Mix, the Russian artist takes the distinctive vocal elements from the original and re-imagines them over top of a tighter, more spacious framework, all while keeping a fluid and emotional energy throughout. The release concludes with John Joshua & Uberphat providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Askeza’. Having contributed to the label’s label’s ‘SIX: Stage-18’ and ‘SIX: Stage-23’ collections, the American duo now delivers their first remix for SLC-6, taking the peak time oriented original into their world of metallic designs, as punchy kick drums, clustered stabs and haunting vocal refrains deliver a prophetic version not for the faint of heart.
