Kostya Outta & Bodai – Imagine [Deepwibe Underground]

The latest release from Deepwibe Underground finds Kostya Outta and Bodai presenting their first ever collaboration. Based in Belarus, it's been an impressive year for Kostya with a string of well received projects for Deepwibe Underground and Mango Alley. Support from Nick Warren, Eelke Kleijn and a host of other progressuve music tastemakers have made Kostya one of the genre's brightest new talents. Meanwhile, Argentinian artist/vocalist Bodai has been enjoying her best year to date with releases via Nick Warren's The Soundgarden and her own AMITABHA imprint. Now, combining their extensive forces, Kostya and Bodai land on Deepwibe Underground with 'Imagine', alongside remixes from Dmitry Molosh and The Cobb.

It's always amazing when two artists collaborate and something special happens. That is certainly the case here, on Imagine, Kostya and Bodai have crafted a hugely memorable slice of progressive house. Its full warm grooves are wonderfully shaped, flowing through character-rich contours and rolling undulation for a swing heavy cadence. Driving percussion, tasteful arps and meandering chord stabs add drive and colour leading into the break, perfectly setting up the vocal reveal which ultimately spearheads a glowing finale.

Deepwibe Underground stalwart Dmitry Molosh returns to the label in grand fashion here. The Propulsion Records boss dials in another exceptional remix, adding his iminiable edge to the track through razor-sharp rhythms and mind-bending sonics. It's darker approach early on adds a completely new dimension to the track and allows for an amazing emotional release as the vocal drop and emotive chord changes ensue. Massive stuff from Dmitry as usual.

Rounding out the release with the second and and final remix is -102C and Deepwibe Underground regular The Cobb. Although primarily operating in an organic space of late, we get a nice amalgamation of the genres here with a deeper, more soulful take that resonates brightly. Housier grooves and soulful musically set the backdrop for Bodai's vocals to work their magic across the middle portion of the track, while freeform designs and nature-centric motifs add a wonderful organic flavour. A powerful rendition from The Cobb which caps off an excellent first time colab from Kostya Outta and Bodai. Don't miss it.
