Releases Kevin Manning – The Rave Machine [Musique de Lune Noire] By Release Promo Posted on 2 weeks ago 6 min read 0 1 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Musique de Lune's Noire division opens the fall season by welcoming Kevin Manning back to the label for his debut EP. Hailing from Ireland, Kevin Manning is best known for being a part of the Bemannte & Bruder duo who first emerged in 2021 with a series of releases via Stripped Recordings. Armed with a timeless progressive sound, Bemannte & Bruder were immediately tipped as a name to watch, with subsequent projects via Aletheia Recordings, Brisbeats Records, Clubsonica and Voodoo & Prayers landing across the next three calendar years. The debut of Kevin's solo moniker came courtesy of Musique de Lune Noire earlier this year with a well-received remix of 'More Than A DJ' by SIX. Now presenting his first original project as a solo artist, Kevin returns to Musique de Lune Noire with 'The Rave Machine', alongside a remix from 'Mauez'. Kevin puts an impressive foot forward for his first solo original 'The Rave Machine'. Retro and energetic in equal measure, it's nostalgic groove and rolling percussion set the pace for nicely placed synth mutations and a catchy rhythmic core. A luminous arp serves as the lead element across the first act, nicely playing off the shapely low end and carrying a wonderful sense of flow into the break. Here the arp re-emerges as granular swells move through emotive chord changes, before eventually getting washed away into a stripped drop and exhilarating finale. The companion piece 'Transformation' continues Kevin's smooth yet energic approach, initially set in motion by a nicely contoured groove and hook-heavy chord stabs. A delicate arp sits at the core of the track, one which adds a dreamy vibe across the main break, as it percolates amidst cinematic pads and wispy effects for an old school vibe, before eventually segueing into an uplifting final act. The lone interpretation of 'The Rave Machine' is provided by Mauez who makes his label debut here. Hailing from France, Mauez first came to our attention late last year with a release via AZZUR, a project which spawned several interesting offerings across 2024, most notably a three-track showcase for ASTHETICS. Always a creative remixer, Mauez overhauls 'The Rave Machine' in fine fashion, utilizing the main themes nicely while creating a broken-beat foundation for maximum dancefloor funk to cap off the release on a creative note.
