Kay-D – Trespasser [Stellar Fountain]

Progressive house veteran Kay-D returns to Stellar Fountain this week with 'Trespasser'. Having made his debut more than a decade ago the Hungarian artist has appeared on pretty much every underground progressive label around, with a long running relationship for Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistique Music in particular. Now landing back on Stellar Fountain Kay-D presents his latest single alongside remixes from Loquai and Ejaz Ahamed.

Tough, bright and with a nostalgic flair the original mix gets the release underway. Acidic rhythms and a bevy of psychedelic designs quickly fill the air as punishing beats and a romping groove drive forward with a deliberate flair. From memory it's one of Kay-D's most intense productions to date and with four breaks of varied lengths sitting across the second act, there are a bevy of big dance floor moments waiting to happen.

Not unlike Kay-D is Loquai, also a progressive house veteran with more than ten years in the scene and a real flair for crafting groovy productions. That sentiment holds true here with a dubbed down version that does focus more on rhythmic elements while teasing in fragments of the original at timely moments. The power of the groove is particularly evident coming out of the break, those thick slabs of bass and bulbous beats are hard to resist, making for a rousing finale.

The release concludes with one of this years fasting rising artists Ejaz Ahamed who is fresh off big remixes for Proton's Particles and Yin. Continuing that trend the Dubai resident delivers another stunning interpretation here, taking 'Trespasser' into dark and groovy territory. Perhaps the most minimal of the three versions here but the fire it carries is very real. Acid fueled lines and tantalizing tones make for a deadly combination while a punchy, robost groove continues to drive momentum forward. Perfect mid-set materiel and a great way to round out another top notch offering from Stellar Fountain. Don't miss it.
