Kaito Aman, RYAN (CUB) – Butter Bridge [Terasonic]

Kaito Aman and RYAN (CUB) team up for Terasonic's final release of the year entitled 'Butter Bridge'. Brazilian artist and Terasonic label boss Kaito Aman has continued to build on a strong year highlighted by releases on BC2, Emotional Content Recordings, Future Avenue and Transensations Records. Meanwhile RYAN is fresh off the launch of this new imprint 'La Cura de la Semana'. Highlighting the four track VA collection was his Hernan Cattaneo supported 'Vanilla Secret'. Now teaming up with Kaito Aman for the first time the duo present their debut single alongside a remix from Gorkiz.

Beginning with the original mix you get an instant sense that the creative synergy between Kaito and Ryan is strong. It’s warm beats and well contoured groove make for an inviting foundation, while layers of exotic percussion and windswept atmospheres advance the narrative. As momentum builds, fragmented melodies and wispy effects play off each other for heartfelt moments. Free flowing towards the break, rolling chord changes heighten the senses, as emerging atmospheres elevate mood as the centrepiece takes shape. Timely modulation adds drama and emotion, while gaseous sweeps rise as firing percussion and quirky electronics summon the groove for a mystical finale.

Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation of 'Butter Bridge' is Gorkiz who makes his label debut. The Brazilian artist and Transensations label boss has also been enjoying a strong year, highlighted by releases on Freegrant Music and Stellar Fountain. The Sao Paulo resident remains one of his country's rising progressive house producers, having already earned the praise of genre tastemakers Nick Warren and Guy J. Now making a welcome debut on Terasonic, Gorkiz delivers a powerful interpretation of ‘Butter Bridge’. Engaging from the outset, its warm framework is crafted to perfection with smooth rhythms and hypnotic arps converging for a gorgeous free form story. Driving percussion and choir-like overlays lift the mood higher as the main break commences. Perfectly timed, the track’s centrepiece is both emotive and trippy, as astral arps melt down against a bed of warm chord changes and glowing synth swells, eventually rising towards a tasteful crescendo and groovy finale. A brilliant remix from Gorkiz which rounds out another must have release from Terasonic Records, a label who have most certainly enjoyed a great first year. Highly recommended.
