Releases Kaito Aman, Carlos Tk – For Somewhere [Terasonic Records] By Release Promo Posted on 26th March 2021 6 min read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Terasonic Records gets 2021 underway with a fresh collaboration from label bosses Kaito Aman and Carlos Tk. Hailing from Brazil, both Kaito and Carlos are well established as solo artists, landing releases on some of progressive music's top imprints such as Antrim's Or Two Strangers, 3rd Avenue, Soundteller Records and Transensations Records. Now uniting for their first ever collaboration Kaito and Carlos present 'For Somewhere' alongside remixes from Ewan Rill and CJ Art. Looking to leave a lasting memory with their debut collaboration, Kaito and Carlos craft a deep, hypnotic slice of progressive house. Smooth and fluid throughout the low end, it’s a light and airy top end which balances everything quite nicely. Soothing arps and placid atmospheres carry the narrative into a memorable break highlighted by muted pianos and robotized vocals. A quick and tasteful build keeps things on the right side of cool, ultimately spearheading a meditative finale. Providing the first interpretation of 'For Somewhere' is Ewan Rill who makes his label debut. The Russian artist and Sever Records boss has been a mainstay of the progressive house underground since first appearing in 2011 with a release on Balkan Connection. Now almost a decade later he stands as one of the genre’s most prolific artists, with a discography of more than 1250 credits and appearances on esteemed imprints such as Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. Now making a welcome debut on Terasonic, Ewan dials in an excellent remix of 'For Somewhere'. The Russian artist’s groove carving skills immediately grabs your attention, adding copious amounts of bounce and swing to a supremely rhythmic framework. The arps get re-imagined for a more fragmented effects-like take, perfectly setting up a buzzing break which rises anticipation towards an emotive, key changing finale. Rounding out the release with the second and final interpretation of 'For Somewhere' is CJ Art. Also making his label debut, the Polish artist has been a mainstay of the electronic underground for over two decades. Often blurring the lines between progressive and psychedelic, CJ has showcased his music on John OO Fleming's JOOF Recordings, Iono, Proton Music and his own Deepersense imprint. Now following a remix of Israeli legend Moshic, CJ debuts on Terasonic with a powerful take on 'For Somewhere'. From it’s spacious, dreamy framework to a warm, pulsating groove and stunning effects narrative there is a lot to like. It’s smooth flow feels effortless with drifting choir-like pads casting a hopeful air over the muscular underbelly. Processed vocals strike at timely moments, adding depth and intrigue as the final break resets the the groove for a storming finish. Stunning music as usual from CJ, which caps off an excellent first time collaboration from Kaito Aman and Carlos Tk. Highly recommended.
