Hailing from the progressive house hotbed of Buenos Aires, the Argentinean artist has been hotly tipped for some time. Original projects for 3rd Avenue, Just Movement, Soundteller Records, Specific Music, Stellar Fountain and The Purr have all been sensational. Also laying claim to a release on Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank Records, Juan now lands on Dreamers with a new three track EP. Equally adept at crafting deep and progressive house, Juan seems to find a happy medium in most of his work. Beginning with 'When We Were Child' we get a framework of dulcet beats, organic drums and smooth rhythmic concepts. A bright, beaming arp soon takes centrestage, flowing through some subtle yet impactful modulation, before completely melting down to a gaseous whisper during the main break. How it's pulled back is quite lovely, as buoyant beats and wispy atmospheres lay the foundation for a kaleidoscopic finale. The second and also title selection 'Falling Skies' resonates just as brightly. A ghostly vocal wail is the most prominent theme here, playing out over a two minute plus break which ultimately sits at the emotional core of the piece. Simplicity is the key and it's that restraint which makes that near three minute stretch all the more powerful. Rounding out the release are the celestial sounds of 'Dutch Princess'. Much like it's predecessor a storyboard of fragmented vocals shines brightly along with iridescent pads and pixie like clusters. Emotive yet groovy, it’s a production which comes from the heart, one to cherish for special occasions and no doubt a memorable selection for your dance floor. It rounds out three great productions from Juan who has definitely made his Dreamers debut in fine style. Highly recommended.
