Hailing from Argentina, Jorge Ruarte aka Jo.E first came to our attention in 2014 with a release via Enhanced's Colorize imprint. Melding progressive house and trance, the well received production led to a litany of successes in the coming years. Projects via Silk Music (now Monstercat Silk) and Elliptical Sun Melodies all landed with resounding success. Now adding Mashbuk Progressive to his resume, Jo.E makes an impressive label debut with 'Moments & Memories'. Progressive breaks have made a mini resurgence over the last year or so and the lead track 'Feel It' is further evidence of that. Jo.E does a wonderful job of incorporating highly emotional themes over sturdy beats and choppy percussive arrangements. From the hopeful vocal overlays to smooth goosebump worthy melodies there is a lot to like here, and it's concise running time keeps these ideas fresh while effortlessly translating that message to the dance floor. Rounding out the release are the playful melodic vibes of 'Catch You'. Here Jo.E moves back into traditional progressive house territory with a gorgeous piano theme and balmy atmospheres running over a warm key changing groove and tranquil arps. Also concise at under six minutes, it's the second of two breaks where the inevitable zenith ultimately occurs, as heartfelt overlays get washed away in a drop of indistinct vocals and buoyant arps. It caps off two gorgeous productions from Jo.E who makes his Mashbuk Progressive debut in fine style. Highly Recommended.
