Secret Feelings opens the new year with a new single from label boss JFR. Hailing from Argentina but currently calling Spain home, Juan Franco Rivero aka JFR has carved out a unique sonic identity in the world of progressive and organic house, resulting in a string of uniquely crafted records that present a resonant worldly sound. Enjoying a steady rise since emerging in 2017, it was 2021 which proved to be a breakout year for JFR, as the Argentine continued his upward trajectory with a standout release for UK behemoth Anjunadeep; a project which would lead to offerings via Clubsonica and Musique de Lune across the next calendar year, and in turn garnering support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and Sebastian Leger. 2023 would also bring newfound success for JFR, launching his Secret Feelings imprint in September with 'Anatonic', before ending the year with the critically acclaimed five-track showcase '21 Angels'. Now, as 2024 begins, JFR returns to his comfortable home of Secret Feelings with 'The Last Queen', alongside remixes from K Loveski, TEELCO and Teleport-X.

The last year has seen JFR successfully craft organic, melodic and progressive house across a variety of releases. His latest, 'The Last Queen' falls into the latter category and does so with considerable oomph. Acid-like lines and tasteful atmospheres converge across a full warm groove, building tension throughout a cosmically styled first act, before melting down into a broken beat breakdown. This ultimately sits as the highlight, with a rhythmic shift and some added effects, the interlude not only keeps a danceable cadence, but perfectly preludes a finale that is equal parts groovy and emotive.

A trifecta of remixes is led by progressive house favourite K Loveski who makes his debut on the label following a release for Univack to begin the year. Loveski's cosmic sound is pretty much tailor made to remix a track like 'The Last Queen' and it has turned out beautifully. JFR's superb marriage of melody and effects translates really well here, and with some added vocal elements and a thunderous yet spacious groove this will no doubt go down really well on the dancefloor.

The second interpretation of 'The Last Queen' is provided by TEELCO who makes his label debut following a single for Ruben Karapetyan's RKP to begin the year. The Albanian artist delivers one of his best remixes to date here, adding a straight forward club friendly vibe that cruises effortlessly before breaking off into a centerpiece of key changing bass swells and uplifting musical fragments. Muted kick drums survey a long and expertly crafted build, as flurries of drums and rising sonics converge for the ultimate crescendo to set up a grooved out finale.

The release concludes with a third label debutant in Teleport-X providing a nostalgic version of 'The Last Queen'. Known for his old school style, the Buenos Aires resident delivers an effects laden take on the track which the listener can get truly lost in. A wealth of trippy textures and cosmic creativities make this an aural delight throughout, while a heavy low-end balances the mix out quite nicely, in turn rounding out what is Secret Feelings most elaborate package to date. Highly recommended.
