Originally released in August of 2017 as part of the UK artist’s ‘In The Ether’ LP, Yin now invites one of the progressive scenes hottest names in Hot TuneiK to reinvent the track for the summer season. Hailing from Mexico and heading up the Hookah Records imprint Diego Carr aka Hot TuneiK seems to be in everyone’s playlists at the moment. His unique combo of groovy basslines and organic percussion have captured the imagination of the progressive world. Seemingly headed in a deeper direction at the moment his ‘Modular’ interpretation continues that narrative with layered beats, shuffling hats and a compact groove. Although deep i would say it’s a touch punchier than what we’ve come to expect from Hot and it serves to complement the more peak time original nicely. Perhaps one of the most refined and detailed pieces of the Mexican’s career in fact, serving notice once again that he is continuing to explore and evolve as an artist.
