Gorkiz & Saturn Keys – Red Clouds [Stellar Fountain]

The latest release from Stellar Fountain finds Gorkiz & Saturn Keys collaborating on a new single entitled 'Red Clouds'. With a collective discography that includes releases on Balkan Connection, Droid9, Freegrant Music and Transensations the Brazilian duo are two of their country's top up and coming progressive house artists. Now in a first ever joint production, Gorkiz & Saturn Keys land on Stellar Fountain alongside remixes from Weird Sounding Dude and Fractal Architect.

Beginning with the original mix Gorkiz and Saturn Keys move into pure progressive territory with a chugging groove, lively rhythms and driving percussion . It’s both warm and energetic, with clustered tones and tranquil arps advancing the narrative across the first act. An emotive break sits at the core of the piece, gently adding atmospheric scope and compelling artefacts, before a sizzling underbelly cues a powerful drop.

Providing the first remix and currently having a great year is India's Weird Sounding Dude. The Bangalore resident is fresh off one of the summer's most well received remixes. His interpretation of Carlos Tk's 'Hope' found favour with Hernan Cattaneo who played the track on his popular Resident podcast. Now continuing that momentum, Weird Sounding Dude turns in a brilliant rendition of 'Red Clouds'. The tempo shifts down a touch and the groove opens up for a more modern feel. Rhythmically buoyant, it's effervescent electronics sound fabulous, loaded with character and perfectly playing off a rising melodic storyboard which elegantly peaks during a rousing final act.

The second and final interpretation of 'Red Clouds' is provided by Fractal Architect who is also having a great year. The UK artist first appeared on the melodic techno scene in 2015 with releases on Paul Hazendonk’s Manual Music and MNL imprints. His unique approach to composition earned immediate praise from both his contemporaries and the genre’s key tastemakers. Now five years on Fractal Architect has found a home on Dear Deer, ICONYC, Movement and Steyoyoke. Always a creative remixer, Fractal Architect returns to Stellar Fountain with a cool take on 'Red Clouds'. Setting the piece in motion is a bed of warm beats and fluid bass tones, while enticing arps and and meditative rhythms elevate mood as percussive flurries flow through the framework. Nostalgic chord changes enhance it's emotional trajectory, perfectly foreshadowing a heartfelt break and purring finale. Gorgeous work from Fractal Architect, capping off an excellent release for Stellar Fountain. Highly recommended.
