The Dutch duo is fresh off releases on Last Night On Earth and Replug Records. Now they return to Manual Music for something quite special, a collaboration entitled ‘Hide & Seek’ alongside fellow countrywoman MILA which is accompanied by Paul Hazendonk and Sasch BBC & Caspar Remixes. The original mix is a three minute downtempo electronica track with a compelling story. In addition to a gorgeous complement of soft atmospheric swells and spacey electronics it’s the vocal narrative which is most gripping. In the words of Mila "Hide & Seek is a song about the dark temptations that I keep falling into. It's about the dangerousness of my playful curiosity and my endless search for the thrill of things that I don't understand." I must say the mysterious nature of the music complements the narrative perfectly and no doubt a producers dream to remix. The first interpretation comes from Manual Music label boss Paul Hazendonk who transforms the piece into a smooth late night affair. The vocals have been snipped and reprocessed to perfection for a less distinct yet still incredibly dulcet vibe. The beauty lies in it’s effortless flow, which smooth hypnotic elements and clean transitions play a huge role in. The subtle build is a dream for the more sophisticated DJs out there and this once again shows just how versatile a producer Paul really is. The release concludes with Sasch BBC & Caspar returning to the label following their ‘Demure’ EP from August of last year. The German duo deliver a superb rendition of ‘Hide & Seek’ making great use of the vocal. It’s setup beautifully by a dramatic, spaced out arp that ebbs and flows throughout a riveting first act before the vocal provides full emotional relief.
