Sever Records celebrates the new year with label boss Ewan Rill presenting his long awaited debut album. Dating back to his first release in 2011, the Russian artist has firmly etched his place in the history of progressive music. Now boasting a discography with more than 500 releases, Ewan has not only been prolific throughout his eight year career but has also earned considerable acclaim, with support from electronic music luminaries such as Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J, Cid Inc, Armin Van Buuren, Markus Schulz and Paul Van Dyk. Regarded by many as one of the most creative remixers in the progressive underground, Ewan's artistry and imaginative process has continued to excite both old and new fans of the genre. Upon establishing Sever records in 2015, Ewan created a home for some of his most cherished creations, while also remaining a mainstay on long standing imprints such as Balkan Connection. Now with momentum burning brightly, Ewan begins the new year by unveiling his debut album entitled 'Cave Of The Single Trap'.

Spread across ten tracks, 'Cave Of The Single Trap' is a club concept album that excites at every turn. From the playful melodic models of the opener 'Single Trap' to the deeper, more subversive moods of 'Private Place', it's a collection of both balance and ingenuity. In a journey where free flowing aesthetics are at a premium, Ewan effortlessly links themes and motifs, as witnessed by the driving club sensibilities of 'Forever Young', 'Beta' and 'Story'. Never one to rest on his progressive minded laurels, Ewan explores darker and decidedly techno inspired design as well, most notably on the devilish 'Heated' which sits at the core of the collection, shifting the mood before effortlessly transitioning into the more meditative qualities of 'Open Gates' and 'Alley'. It's this tranquil state of mind which leads to the groovy, astral sensibility of 'Loading', well composed over pulsating energies and complete with a myriad of harmony and colour. The release concludes with the haunting 'Remember', a cross pollinated piece, effortlessly melding elements for a fittingly modern narrative, with Ewan's diverse studio repertoire on full display. A fitting end to a superb collection of music from an artist who has been pillar of the progressive house scene for nearly a decade.
