Dmitry Molosh – Bloom [Afterglow]

Dmitry Molosh makes a welcome return to Afterglow with a new single alongside a remix from Th;en. The Belarus based artist has continued to dominate the progressive music landscape in 2019. After rounding out 2018 with a highly regarded EP for Cid Inc's Replug Records, Dmitry has went on to showcase his music on Beatfreak Recordings, Beat Boutique and Sudbeat Music this year. Now following a remix for Proton Music, Dmitry lands back on Afterglow with the much anticipated 'Bloom'.

Coming in at a concise six minute running time it's the original mix which leads the release off. Warm, punchy beats and mounds of perfectly carved bass lay the foundation, as a framework of effervescent percussion and rolling rhythms begins to take shape. The introduction of billowing tonal theme adds a cascading swing to the groove, while melodic fragments play off it's powerful sway perfectly. Although brief, the main break serves to heighten tension through tasteful modulation, building to an exhilarating apex and perfectly setting up a driving finale.

The release concludes with Th;en returning to the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'Bloom'. The cross continental duo continues to be one of the melodic techno scenes most tried and tested remixers, having racked up a remarkable number of discography credits, most notably for BeatFreak Recordings, Beat Boutique, ICONYC and Sudbeat. Also calling Afterglow home, Th;en returns to the German imprint with a stunning take on 'Bloom'. Always creative remixers, Th;en deconstructs the main elements into something decidedly more astral for what sits as an ideal complement to the original. Atop a warm, full bodied groove comes buzzing synths and poignant tones. It's unique contrast of grit and shimmer results in a remarkable sonic marriage, one which makes for a hugely energetic yet quite tasteful journey, elegantly peaking through a striking break, before an exhilarating final act puts a cap on this cosmic gem. A stunning remix from Th;en which rounds out yet another must have release from Afterglow. Highly recommended.
