Based in Los Angeles, David Lopez de Arenosa aka Darenosa began his production career on the Russian imprint in 2020 with his 'Permission to Speak' EP. Comprised of three distinct and colourful creations, it set the foundation for David's amalgamation of melodic house and indie dance. Also an accomplished DJ and live act, the American artist has performed throughout California's much revered club scene, while also landing a spot at the iconic Burning Man festival. Now continuing to build a bond with Polyptych, Darenosa returns to the label with the much anticipated 'In My Control', alongside a remix from Dennis De Laat. Continuing to find that creative sweet spot been genres, Darenosa crafts an ethereal sounding beauty with 'In My Control'. A slow burning groove sets the journey in motion, made up of punchy kicks, wavy arps and layers of flickering percussion. The introduction of an indie inspired vocal opens up the boundaries further, as soulful wails deliver a nostalgic injection to the hazy harmonic storyboard. A smart tonal theme shines across the main break, eventually getting washed away in favour of granular sizzle and evolving vocal arrangements. Not without tense moments, Darenosa builds sizable drama coming out of the break, pushing modulation just enough to spearhead a finale that is both striking and poignant. The release concludes with Dennis De Laat making his label debut and providing the lone interpretation of 'In My Control'. The Dutch artist has been a recognized talent for well over a decade, landing releases on world class imprints such as Armada, Glasgow Underground, Spinnin Records and Ultra. Now presenting just his second new production of the year, Dennis makes his Polyptych debut with a stunning take on 'In My Control'. Leaning closer to melodic house and techno territory, Dennis overhauls the groove into a swing heavy, acidic wonder that delights from the outset. It's buoyant sensibility is perfectly carved for the dance floor and nicely accentuated with percussive flurries and emerging atmospheres, which ultimately serve as the backdrop for those distinctive vocals. Pushing the emotional narrative further, the main break strips down to a gorgeous cinematic glow, adding further depth and colour to the vocal while perfectly setting up a powerful drop and effects laden finale.
