Cream & Deep Fog – Lost In Time [Specific Music]

Cream & Deep Fog make their debut on Yegor Tsarkov’s Specific Music with ‘Lost In Time’. The Polish duo has had a wonderful year highlighted by releases on Balkan Connection, Magnitude Records, Proton Music, Soundteller Records and Stellar Fountain. Now capping 2018 off in style, Cream & Deep Fog deliver their first single for Specific Music alongside a remix from Michael A.

For a duo so firmly rooted in the progressive underground it’s quite amazing how they continue to deliver fresh music. ‘Lost In Time’ is exactly that, finding the duo incorporating afro influences with their progressive state of mind. Deep and subversive from the outset, it’s buzzing synths and aquatic designs are immediately striking, burrowing deep into your subconscious before melting down into a cavernous break. Stretching out to around two minutes in length, the centrepiece is a lessen in building tension through cinematic soundscapes and futuristic design. There is no discernable narrative here, rather a collage of sonic colour that perfectly shifts energy into a classy drop.

The lone interpretation of ‘Lost In Time’ is provided by Michael A who returns to the label for his ninth appearance. The final quarter of 2018 has seen the Belarus based artist continue to dominate with releases on Proton Music and Saturate Audio. For his ‘Lost In Time’ interpretation Michael has taken the mysterious moods of the original and reinvented them over a more club friendly framework. A more distinct narrative quickly forms as ghostly vocals and free flowing electronics merge for exhilarating moments leading into the main break. Otherworldly, the centrepiece elevates drama and tension into a powerful drop and quirky finale. A superb remix from Michael which has already struck a chord with progressive DJs pre-release. It rounds out another brilliant package from Yegor Tsarkov’s Specific Music who are steadily working their way up the progressive ranks.
