Christian Monique – Earthshine [SLC-6 Music]

D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music opens the month of July by welcoming Christian Monique back to the label with the single, 'Earthshine.' As one of Italy's most recognized progressive house producers, Christian lays claim to an extensive discography highlighted by releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, 3rd Avenue, Droid9, Nature Rec and more. Having made his SLC-6 Music debut in 2021 with a well-received remix of 'Helium' by D.J. MacIntyre and Casper Keys, Christian now makes a welcome return to the label for a new single alongside remixes from Indigo Man and Doriaan.

Known for exploring broader ranges of the progressive spectrum, Christian opts for a deep and hypnotic approach on 'Earthshine'. The Italian's warm rippling grooves and meditative textures marry beautifully, while layers of clattering percussion drive momentum in the break. Continuing on an explorative path, the interlude basks in retro-radiance as hypnagogic arps and balmy textures build anticipation towards a thumping drop and uplifting finale. Providing the first remix is SLC-6 Music mainstay Indigo Man who makes his sixth appearance on the label. The Mexican artist, and Hernan Cattaneo favourite, delivers a worthy complement to the original, with a spacious version that weaves its way through fragmented melodies and rich textural refrains, all while keeping a strong dance floor sensibility. Rounding out the release is Doriaan who also makes his sixth appearance on the label following his 'Spinning Webs' single from last year. Looking to put his own stamp on 'Earthshine' the Mexican artist focuses on the atmospheric lean of the original, with a dreamy interpretation that should fare well in the morning hours.
