I started to get involved with electronic music because of my cousins, they were djing at a club in Buenos Aires and they taught me how to mix. I got really passionate about it and by when I was 18 I new I wanted to make a living out of music. Do you have musical influences outside of dance music and what are they? Yes, for sure. I love music. I’m always in the mood for some Radiohead, Sigur Ros or Depeche Mode, and I’ve also been listening to a lot of Stavroz and Raz lately. What’s a normal day like for you? How do you end up with the final selection and how do you go about cutting stuff out? There must be honeymoon period with almost everything you write? “Founded during a cold winter night on the island of Grimsey in Iceland, Abe’s focus and aim is to create and conserve timeless moments through their music. Like a formation of Northern Lights that reveal themselves to their spectators, the music of Abe is developed outside of our modern world and its regulations. It’s dark and soulful techno, both simple and complex. The title track “Our Land” kicks things off on a lavishly transcendental note, with layers of sounds craftily filling the complete frequency spectrum. Giorgia Angiuli, the globetrotting Italian, who has previously released on labels including Stil Vor Talent, Kindisch and Suara, is known for her innovative and outstanding live sets and her skills as a mutli-instrumentalist. The title track, for which the famous Eugenia Barone contributed the double bass, is backed with a remix from label boss Marc Romboy. Both have a slightly progressive air with Romboy adding some percussive drive and more presence in the main synth line. New ADE Festival Hangout at De Brakke Grond from Wednesday through till Saturday, DeLaMar takes centre stage for ADE Conference. With the latest additions including Armin van Buuren (NL), Charlotte de Witte (BE), Dixon (DE), Helena Hauff (DE), Jon Hopkins (GB), Maceo Plex (US), Nina Kraviz (RU) and Ricardo Villalobos (CL), the 2017 line up of the Amsterdam Dance Event’s festival is almost complete. The Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), an initiative of Buma, is the world's largest club festival and the most important business conference for electronic music. The 2017 edition will feature around 2500 performers, an all-time record number, playing in over 140 locations in Amsterdam and around 550 speakers in the diverse conference programme. Music pioneer Gary Numan, Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh, Martin Garrix and Pussy Riot's Nadya Tolokonnikova are among the artists that will be taking part in the daytime events.
