Deersky's Soundteller Records celebrates it's 200th release with a brand new single from Blue Cell. Hailing from Germany, Joachim Broeckers and Nicolas Albrecht make up the Blue Cell production duo and first appeared on the Polish imprint with a contribution to the label's 'Vibrant Vibeland #04' collection from November of 2017. Having since notched releases on Balkan Connection, Clubsonica Records and Stellar Fountain's Astrowave division, the German duo now return to Soundteller for their first single alongside remixes from Matter and SHFT.

Beginning with the original mix we find Blue Cell crafting a deep, atmospheric progressive number of the highest order. Warm, inviting and full of great shape it's the low end which first captures your imagination. Mounds of mountainous bass roll forward as warm textural drifts descend over the framework. It's about as classically styled as you can get for a progressive house creation and it is all incumbent on that incredible groove. A short break resets the narrative nicely, bringing the haze to a palpable sizzle before elevating once notch higher during a transcendent finale.

The first interpretation of 'Swift Coil' is provided by Matter who returns to the label for his fourth appearance. It seems only appropriate that one of the progressive scenes finest label's rings in their 200th release with a remix from one of the genre's finest artists and Matter is exactly that. Having forged a distinctive sound, the Australian producer's fluid, hypnotic style has also found a place in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren while landing him releases on Cid Inc's Replug Records and Anjunadeep. Now returning to Soundteller, Matter provides a superb take on 'Swift Coil' which is both emotive and highly memorable. The warmth and atmosphere from the original translate quite well, all backed by a fuller more fluid groove. It is the breakdown which eventually steals your heart though, as a myriad of harmonic concepts and sweeping noise converge for moments of exhilaration, before dropping out into a bed of warm beats and redolent bass.

The release concludes with SHFT making his label debut. Adopted almost five years ago, SHFT is an alter ego of Delhi-based DJ/Producer Vipul Angirish. Created with the intent of crafting a cleaner more borderless sound, this shift in focus has led to releases on Parquet, Steyoyoke and Traum. Now following a stunning EP for Dear Deer Black to begin the year, SHFT makes an impressive debut on Soundteller with an inspired rendition of 'Swift Coil'. Opting for a dubbier approach, the emphasis on detail and narrative is at a premium, with tight beats, neatly tailored percussion and a deadly hypnotic line all working together in perfect sonic unison. Advancing the emotional storyboard, the main break flows through foreboding moods before icy pads and nicely timed decay ignite a stunning drop which is perfectly dialled for a contemporary dance floor. It rounds out a celebratory 200th release for Deersky's Soundteller Records, who have over a six year stretch built an impressive legacy within the progressive house underground and become one of our scenes finest labels.
