The latest release on Antrim’s Or Two Strangers imprint finds Berni Turletti returning for a new EP. The Argentinean artist first appeared on the label in 2017 with a contribution to the ‘Strangers CBA’ collection. The following year then yielded the well-received ‘Surround Us With Love’ EP while 2019 found Berni remixing Golan Zocher’s ‘Te’. Now following a release on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music, Berni lands back on Or Two Strangers with ‘In Motion’ alongside remixes from Baunder and Matias Chilano.

Beginning with the title track, Berni draws from the peak time sensibilities of his repertoire. It's tough, driving groove commands a big presence, adorned with fiery percussion and electric pulses. Ghostly effects advance the narrative across the first act, before a euphoric lead theme strikes during the main break, perfectly setting up a groovy finale. The companion piece ‘Physical Balance’ continues the energetic tone set by its predecessor. Mysterious and mystical from the outset, a punchy groove sits at the foundation as effervescent arps and melodic fragments converge across the first act. The narrative shifts into more emotive territory as the main break commences, with layered tonal themes playing off each other perfectly, before effortlessly shifting energy into a glowing final act.

The first interpretation of ‘Physical Balance’ is provided by Baunder who makes his label debut. Perhaps best known as being one half of Soundexile, Baunder’s solo productions have achieved similar acclaim. With a career that spans almost two decades, the Buenos Aires resident has showcased his music on All Day I Dream, Balance Music, Replug and Sudbeat. Now following a remix of Nick Muir, Baunder makes his first appearance on Or Two Strangers with a stunning rendition of ‘Physical Balance’. Opting for a deeper, more heady approach, the Argentinean artist focuses on a strong effects narrative and meditative drive, resulting in a great complement to the original. Deep and mysterious in all the right ways, charming arps rise across the first act, glowing against a backdrop of hopeful pads, before an emotive finale seals it’s brilliance.

Rounding out the release and providing the second and final interpretation of ‘Physical Balance’ is Matias Chilano. The Argentinean artist had another stellar year in 2019 with two of his productions appearing on Patrice Baumel’s Global Underground Berlin mix compilation. 2020 has brought similar success with the January release of his ‘Red Line’ EP via Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music. Now making his long overdue Or Two Strangers debut, Matias provides a stunning rendition of ‘Physical Balance’. As the track gets underway layered beats and a rolling groove make for a perfect balance of warmth and drive. Electric pulses layer the commanding framework as astral effects and grainy sweeps steal the air. The narrative shifts across the main break with modulation building to a sonic sizzle as a wave of white noise unleashes a pulsating drop and storming final movement. An inspired remix from Matias which caps off another excellent offering from Antrim’s Or Two Strangers.
