With a 2022 that included two singles and a remix for the Polish imprint, UK artist Andy King continues to build a stronger bond with label with his first project of 2023 'Lights by the Water', alongside remixes from Juan Deminicis and J Lauda. Andy's pure progressive sound always has a great nose for the dancefloor and on 'Lights by the Water' we get that and more. Working with a strong hypnotic narrative, Andy builds tension through slow-burn repetition and finds a nice balance between club stomping grooves and meditative musical themes. It's rare nowadays that a nine minute plus track is anything other than too long, but this near ten minute epic has enough twists, turns and exciting drops to maintain a captivating relationship with the listener. Returning to the label for the first remix is Juan Deminicis who comes off an excellent remix for Nufects and Clubsonica with great interpretation of 'Lights by the Water'. The Lost & Found/Sudbeat alum opts for a deeper approach here, adding gentle musical touches across fluttery percussive arrangements and deep, thumping grooves for a perfect mid-set style track. Also returning to the label is J Lauda who provides the second and final interpretation of 'Lights by the Water'. Fresh off remixes for Massive Harmony and SLC-6 Music, the NY resident picks up pace and flow for an energetic dancefloor romp. The tight, compact feel of the original is well maintained, as are it's hypnotic tendencies, but there is a darker more mysterious tone which comes to full fruition during an expansive break, ultimately foreshadowing a driving finale to cap off the release in style.
