Based in Naples, the Italian imprint has been a landing spot for some of the underground's freshest melodic house and techno artists. With their first release coming in March of this year, the imprint has built remarkable momentum across the spring and summer. Now embarking on their 25th offering, Somma Records introduces us to Andrea Felice with 'Hello World' alongside a remix from VayFlor ft. S-Jay Soprano. Beginning with the original mix Andrea explores the deep, dubby spectrum's of house. Anchored by a tough, punchy kick and fluid rhythms, it's hypnotic swing becomes immediately captivating. Sweeping overlays and crispy effects add character and depth as the first act evolves, before effortlessly segueing into the main break. The centrepiece elevates mood through muted pianos and and glacial effects, flowing smoothly with a radiant glow and eventually melting down to the purring groove for a fluid finale. Rounding out the release and providing the lone interpretation is VayFlor ft. S-Jay Soprano. Having both appeared on the label previously in solo capacity the duo now pair up for their first ever collaboration. The sleek, meditative qualities of the original are well maintained with the duo's masterstroke being the addition of S-Jay's vocals. Reflective and soulful in equal measure, they blanket the hypnotic foundation perfectly, adding a unique emotional quality before ultimately setting up a heartfelt break and nostalgic final movement.
