Antrim’s Or Two Strangers continues a strong start to the year by welcoming Alto Astral and Porra to the label for their debut EP. Originally from Argentina and now calling Spain home, Martina Mozzoni and Matias Villafañe aka Alto Astral first emerged in 2019 on the strength of early tracks ‘Time Shifter’ and ‘One of a Kind’. Noted for their groovy progressive sound and memorable live performances, Alto Astral quickly became a rising duo to watch, in turn receiving nominations for Best Duo and Best Live Set in the electronic music scene in Córdoba. Now nearly five years on Alto Astral have built an impressive resume with standout releases via Freegrant Music, Proton and Nick Warren’s The Soundgarden. Meanwhile, Buenos Aires based Porra has enjoyed similar success across his decade long career. After impressive debut’s on Omid 16B’s Alola and Sex on Wax, the talented Argentine would emerge as one of his country’s finest progressive house exports, showcasing his music via Or Two Strangers, Plattenbank, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden, while continuing to appear in the sets of Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. Now, combining their extensive forces for the first time, Alto Astral and Porra present their debut collaboration ‘Looking For You’, alongside a remix from Antrim.

On the title selection ‘Looking For You’, the trio masterfully synthesizes their talents in crafting a club-effective vocal led piece which is sure to deliver memorable dancefloor moments. Full of smooth cruising energies, the trio tastefully blend tight kick drums, finely tuned percussion and electric pulses to create a contemporary framework for a full vocal narrative to work its magic. Emotive chord changes and muted pianos provide the backdrop for a poignant chorus, while rising tension and a short but timely break delivers just the right amount of dancefloor spark. The companion piece ‘Holding On’ finds Alto Astral operating in solo capacity and delivering a feel-good progressive excursion that's nicely suited for those uplifting club moments. Quirky synth lines and bubbly arps combined with a smooth rolling framework and timely vocal fragments provide a path into an emotive break. Here, the vocal narrative springs to life, set against a colourful backdrop of radiant textures and orbiting effects, before perfectly segueing into a blissed out finale.

Returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Looking For You’ is Antrim. Continuing to build on his remarkable career, the Cordoba resident ended 2023 looking back on what was perhaps his best year to date. 'Risk / Suru' (via Or Two Strangers) got the year underway in impressive fashion, setting up a string of excellent offerings via Paul Thomas' UV and Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, before ending the year with a standout debut for Guy Mantzur's prestigious Moments imprint. Already making his mark across 2024’s first quarter, Antrim has released two well-received EP’s via Clubsonica and most recently, his Or Two Strangers imprint with ‘Prokliseis / Green Heart’. Now, finding his way back onto his home imprint for his first remix of the year, Antrim puts his own unique twist on ‘Looking For You’. Opting for a dubbier and more refined take on the track, the Cordoba resident conveys the mood from the original beautifully, for a less vocally dominant yet equally emotive and at times dramatic version that’s perfect for the more astute dancefloors out there.
