Agustin Aluise – Collateral [Another Life Music]

Continuing what has been a great first year, Another Life Music welcomes Agustin Aluise back to the label for his first single. The Argentinean artist first appeared on the Swiss imprint in September with a remix of 'Misunderstood Technology' by label boss Bynomic. A contribution to 3rd Avenue's 'Fall Sampler' followed shortly thereafter, further solidifying the Buenos Aires resident as one of progressive music's top up and comers. Now returning to Another Life Agustin presents his latest studio creation 'Collateral' alongside remixes from Bynomic and Manu F.

Likely one of Agustin’s strongest tracks to date, ‘Collateral’ has enough distinctive elements to sit with you for some time. Deep and groovy, it’s tantalizing arps and buzzing electronics carry a smooth, progressive sensibility across the first act. Creating hypnotic energy with each successive loop, it eventually drops outs into a tranquil break which sits at the emotional core of the piece. It's this serene vibe that quickly captures your imagination, if only for a brief moment, as Agustin pulls it all back for a powerful drop.

Returning to his comfortable for the seventh time and providing the first remix is label boss Bynomic. Along with Another Life, the Swiss artist has had a tremendous year, showcasing his ever evolving style, while building one of his country's finest progressive house imprints. Now on remix duty once again Bynomic provides a peak time rendition of 'Collateral'. The main themes are very well conveyed here but it's a fuller low end and massive sense of space that makes this feel tailor made for a large room. With a wonderful bounce and roll, the percussion builds sizeable momentum, while that spacey lead theme burrows deeper and deeper into your subconscious. Although brief, the main break does exactly what you want, tastefully elevating mood and anticipation, before a dynamic segue into the final act is sure to light up your dance floor.

The release concludes with Manu F providing the second and final interpretation of 'Collateral'. Hailing from Corrientes, the Argentinean artist has compiled an extensive discography since first appearing in 2013. Releases on Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, Balkan Connection and his own Nube Music sit as highlights as he continues to explore the deep and progressive spectrum's of house. Now making his Another Life debut he caps the release off with a gorgeous take on 'Collateral'. The tempo shifts down a touch and the main elements come off more playful and carefree. The energy however is still progressive minded with a full, chugging groove and that nostalgic swing carrying these charming motifs across it's seven minute journey. A top notch remix from Manu, rounding out another well put together release for Bynomic's Another Life Music. Highly recommended.
