Adelphos – Stellium [Auditen Music]

Dynacom's Auditen Music returns welcoming Adelphos to the label for their debut EP. Hailing from Rosario, Martin D & Matias M make up the Adelphos production duo. The Argentinean pair first arrived on the progressive music underground in May of this year with a release on Michael & Levan and Stiven Rivic's Mistique Music. Now presenting just their second release, Adelphos land on Auditen with 'Stellium'.

The duos first release showed an affinity for fluid grooves and smooth hypnotic concepts. That sensibility continues on the title cut with a backbone of punchy beats, smooth bass swells and tranquil arps ultimately laying the foundation. Evolving methodically, tepid overlays and a swirling backdrop engulf the framework before spacey effects initiate the second act. Subtle modulation plays a big part in creating tension across the break, quite tasteful, it's a gentle rise, perfectly setting up a timely drop and smooth finale.

The companion piece follows a similar sonic ethos with acid-like rhythms and a smooth harmonic disposition. It's remarkably restrained for a new artist and it's spacious feel allows for a somewhat surreal atmospheric presence. The second act is made up of two breaks and what is essentially a drifting bridge, serving to maintain and eventually shift energy into a series of buzzing effects before perfectly segueing into a meditative third act. It rounds out two lovely creations from Adelphos who are certainly a production duo to keep an eye on going forward.
