Originally released courtesy of Praveen Achary’s Juicebox Music in August of this year it proved to be one of the label’s most unique and in my opinion strongest releases. Now picked up by Yin, the US label calls upon techno titan Marc DePulse to reinvent the track for the winter season. Based in Germany and highly touted for some time, Marc DePulse has had another sensational year. Releases on Beatfreak Recordings, Movement Recordings, Sincopat, Tenampa and his own Jeahmon imprint have all been hugely memorable, and now he caps the year off in style with a stellar rendition of ‘Second Sight’. The first thing that grabs your attention is the shape and character of the low end. Subterranean and wonderfully contoured it proves to be the perfect anchor for a collectieve of astral effects and rugged rhythmic themes. Two intertwined synth motifs rise to prominence as the first act strips down into the main break, perfectly setting up a short but impactful build, topped off with a sizzling sonic crest that’s sure to light up your dance floor. This one is big! A stunning rework from Marc who continues to impress, can’t wait to see what he has in store for us in 2019. A great choice by Tripp and Yin Yang once again. Highly recommended.
