Releases Nicholas Van Orton – Aloy [Balkan Connection] By Release Promo Posted on 11th May 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin Nicholas Van Orton returns to Balkan Connection this week with a new EP entitled ‘Aloy’, The Argentinean artist and BCSA label boss has been a primary fixture of the Serbian imprint since making his debut over a decade ago. Now following a remix for Nube Music, Nicholas presents the much anticipated follow-up to his ‘Padme’ single. Beginning with the title piece ‘Aloy’ Nicholas works ethereal melodies over a mountainous groove. There’s a hint of Afterlife style techno in this one although it’s rolling foundation keeps the progressive roots firmly in place. The break brings the most fire with raining percussion setting a dramatic, otherworldly tone, elevating the composition into astral territory. The second selection ‘Carja’ comes in equally compelling with a deep, warm vibe that’s wonderfully offset with airy atmospheres and dulcet motifs. A stripped break does wonders to shift energy into an even groovier third act finale. The third and final track ‘Arco Sombrío’ lowers the tempo a touch for an even more enchanting affair. A vocal storyboard adds intrigue, particularly during the break, which is short and perfectly executed, delivering more fire to the dance floor. The record’s final act is one of deep emotion with luminous tones and radiant atmospheres encasing the groove on the journey home. Nicholas’ sound continues to evolve and this EP certainly cements that with a deeper, spiritual narrative explored in each composition. Looking forward to seeing what he does next. Highly Recommended.
