Michael A – Hypnotic [Specific Music]

Michael A returns to Yegor Tsarkov’s Specific Music this week with a brand new single entitled ‘Hypnotic’. The Belarus based artist is fresh off a collaboration with Simply City which was released on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat Music last week. Specific has become a comfortable home for Michael and now he make his 13th appearance alongside remixes from Stas Drive and Pacco & Rudy B.

Michael’s sound has evolved quite nicely over the last year. While remaining in the progressive arena there is a greater scope where he explores deeper grooves and atmospheric motifs. Such is that of ‘Hypnotic’ with it’s fluid, chuggy low end and vibrant acid lines. Trippy without being overbearing and with a silky smooth storyboard to take you deep into the night.

The first interpretation is provided by Stas Drive who returns to the label for his third appearance. The Ukrainian artist made his debut on the label in November of 2016 with a remix of Following Light. Now fresh off releases on Suara and Beatfreak, Stas Drive returns taking ‘Hypnotic’ into groovy territory. The main themes translate well but with an added ethereal air about them, add to that a rugged, rolling groove and tighter rhythmic core and you’ve got a version tailor made for the dance floor. Massive stuff from Stas Drive.

The second and final remix of ‘Hypnotic’ is provided by Pacco & Rudy B who are making their label debut. The Croatian duo have been hot this year with the launch of their Mallam imprint along with quality work for A Must Have and Dopamine Music. Always creative remixers, Pacco & Rudy B up the tempo slightly but deliver a sleeker, more refined take on the track. The acid lines get stripped away in favour of a sparse yet poignant piano theme while the atmospheric elements remain, guiding the nine minute journey. A gorgeous remix from Pacco & Rudy B which rounds out another massive release from Yegor Tsarkov’s Specific Music. Highly Recommended.
