Releases rAin – Sweet Collision EP [Soundteller Records] By Release Promo Posted on 19th March 2018 0 second read 0 0 Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Reddit Share on Linkedin At the heart of the Mauritius progressive house scene lies rAin. A household name in his own country having shared the decks with Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Eelke Kleijn and a long list of international talents. Also holding a high production pedigree rAin has notched up releases on Juicebox Music and Manual Music. Now making his much anticipated debut on Deersky's Soundteller Records, rAin presents his 'Sweet Collision' EP. rAin's built a reputation for creating a broad range of moods and feeling within his tracks. All coming under the progressive umbrella but with distinctly different vibes at times. The lead piece 'Dark Matter' is classic roller with lots of low end character and airy harmonics, not unlike some of Guy J's past work. The break is perhaps the most magical stretch, with oodles of bass modulation and a subtle advancement of the musical narrative, in turn nailing a gorgeous emotive moment. 'Illusion' meanwhile comes in much deeper and more laid back with the tempo dropping around five BPM. Luminous synth elements create a gorgeous glow through the first act before getting washed away as the break commences. The quiet calm is gorgeous and as the musical narrative reforms it creates a smooth bridge into a sleek, percussive finale. The third and also title selection 'Sweet Collision' is also a deeper creation and perhaps the most enchanting on the EP. Warm bass swells, organic percussion and subtle but oh so gorgeous harmonics make up a lovely first act. Quite unassuming in a way, as it breaks down before a poignant lead them is introduced, wonderfully processed, it's these creamy keys which steal your heart and round the EP out and the most heartfelt of notes. Highly Recommended.
