Various Artists – SIX: Stage-24 [SLC-6 Music]

Opening the month of March, D.J. MacIntyre's SLC-6 Music presents the twenty-fourth edition of their SIX: Stage-X compilation series. Established five years ago, the beloved various artists showcase continues to search the globe for the freshest new talent that the electronic underground has to offer, featuring a cohesive blend of progressive and melodic techno styles. SIX: Stage-24 continues that ethos featuring exclusive new music from: Lena Storm, Ormus, Sound Fusion & Juan Ram, Rama (AR) & AOVA, Platon (RU) and Lucas Pietra.

Returning to the label with the first selection is Lena Storm. Now making her fourth SLC-6 appearance, the Russian artist impresses once again with 'Ecliptica'. Cross-cultural vocals take centrestage here, creating a prophetic quality which melds perfectly with Lena's energized beats, dynamic percussion and crunchy club-effective framework. Selection two finds Ormus returning to the label for his second appearance, following a contribution to the twenty-third edition of SIX: Stage-X. Famed for his releases via JOOF Recordings and RPO, the Spanish artist unveils his latest studio creation 'Neshama', a retro-fusion of progressive house and trance, complete with acid-like lines, spiralling arps and a cinematic break to gain the full attention of your dancefloor. Sound Fusion & Juan Ram combine their extensive forces on selection three 'External Activity'. Hailing from Poland and Mauritius respectively, the duo craft a deep, driving cut that excels through meditative synth phrasing, thought provoking vocal samples and a memorable melodic theme, the latter of which pushes the journey to an uplifting finale.

The collection's second and final collaboration is provided by Rama (AR) & AOVA. Hailing from Argentina and Mexico respectively, the cross-continental duo have been studio partners in the past for Madloch's 3rd Avenue, as part of the label's popular 'Three of a Kind' series. Their latest, the deeply mysterious 'Another Perspective' finds them crafting a trippy yet melodic affair, driven by wispy effects, meditative rhythms and a trance-inspired finale that's perfect for the morning hours. Selection five 'Sever' is provided by SLC-6 stalwart Platon (RU). The Russian artist makes his seventh label appearance here, presenting a mature no frills club cut driven by tough kick drums, ominous synth swells and a tripped-out break to fully saturate your senses. The collection concludes with Lucas Pietra making his label debut following releases for 3rd Avenue, Anoka, BCSA and Nordic Voyage. 'Arshall' finds the Buenos Aires resident crafting a tough progressive cut, one that cleverly mixes buzzing chord stabs and chunky basslines with orbiting effects and a siren-like lead to unite your dancefloor at its peak hours.
