AxeLara – Whispers [Just Movement]

Just Movement continues a strong spring season by welcoming AxeLara back to the label for a new single. Hailing from Argentina, AxeLara has been a frequent contributor to Just Movement since making his label debut in 2017. Following a contribution to the Summer VA series, the Mar del Plata resident has gone on to record thirteen originals and a remix across seven years, the most recent of which was 2022’s ‘Aglaia’, an EP which landed alongside remixes from Alex O’Rion and Sebastian Sellares. Now, following strong projects for Dreamers and PHA to begin the year, AxeLara returns to Just Movement with ‘Whispers’, alongside a remix from Daniel Testas.

Beginning with the original mix AxeLara puts a firm focus on the dance floor which sets the tone for the release. Full of charged energies, the Mar del Plata resident expertly blends punchy kick drums and pulsating grooves with swing heavy rhythms and astral effects. Processed vocal fragments and clustered melodies steal the air, furthering the first movement leading into the break. Here, the mesmerizing melodic-progression continues as the vocal evolves and modulation intensifies onwards to a cosmic finale.

The release concludes with Daniel Testas returning to the label for the lone interpretation of ‘Whispers’. With over three decades of production experience, Dutch producer Daniel Testas has more than carved out a place in electronic music history. From his early beginnings as a progressive house producer, to several side projects writing Drum and Bass, Deep House, Balearic House and more along the way, the Amsterdam resident eventually rediscovered his progressive roots with releases via Deep Down Music, MNL, Outta Limits, The Purr and more. Having made his Just Movement debut in May of last year with the ‘Being a Phoenix’ single, Daniel now returns to the label for his first remix, as he takes ‘Whispers’ into his world of timeless progressive house. With a creative approach, the Laren resident remodels the track into an exhilarating dancefloor experience. Bound together by a hypno-architecture, it's a blend of re-processed vocals, shapeshifting effects, and cleverly coaxed melodies which ultimately carries this epic journey, one where Daniel unlocks an even bigger part of his studio repertoire.
