Returning to Stellar Fountain for a followup to their 'Here I Am' EP, Mariner + Domingo unveil 'Me & Youtopia' just in time for the summer season. In what has been a fruitful partnership, the last year saw the US duo rise through the landscape of progressive and organic house. On the strength of 2020 releases via 3rd Avenue, Balkan Connection, RYNTH, Sound Avenue and The Purr, Mariner and Domingo began 2021 with their ‘Move On’ EP via Madloch's Sound Avenue imprint. Highlighting the release was the Lee Burridge supported ‘Another Life’ which quickly rose to the top of the duo’s best seller’s chart. Now as the year enters its second half, Mariner + Domingo return to Stellar Fountain with a two track EP alongside remixes from Diass and Greg Tomaz.

Beginning with the title selection, it's the duo's calling card of live, organic percussion which impresses right out of the gate. Hiring session musicians to achieve such depth and character is not really a common thing in the electronic underground, but Mariner + Domingo routinely go to these great lengths to deliver something that very few artists can. It's evident here once again with an exotic drum storyboard to die for. Add to that just the right amount of nuanced musicality and the end result is a production you can listen to or dance to several times over and never be bored of. The companion piece 'It's So Good' follows with perhaps a greater emphasis on melody as shimmering arp fragments and quirky hooks intertwine over a bed of warm beats and flickering percussion. A gorgeous vocal narrative eventually emerges across the first act, bringing all the feels you could ever want and perfectly setting up a heartfelt break and glowing conclusion. Beautiful music from one of the best organic house duo's around at the moment.

Best known for his releases on Lump Records, Sangraal and Sol Selectas is Bulgarian producer Diass. Making his label debut here, Diass adds a unique take on 'Me & Youtopia' that showcases his organic, carnival inspired sounds. Much harder and more direct than the original, it's rolling groove, dynamic percussion and dark electronics sound absolutely fabulous. Mildly cross-cultural, the break unveils more of a primary theme; almost surreal it provides the perfect bridge into a chunky, rhythmic and wonderfully heady finale.

Adding further depth to the release is Greg Tomaz who returns to the label to provide the second and final interpretation of 'Me & Youtopia'. On the strength of a prolific 2020, the Indian artist began the year on Stellar Fountain in fact, delivering a well received rendition of Alex M.I.F's 'Levitation', before going on to record remixes for Groove 9 and Stripped Digital. Continuing to build a bond with Stellar Fountain, Greg now turns in a gorgeous take on Me & Youtopia'. Equally adept at creating progressive or organic house, the Bangalore resident leans towards the latter here with a charismatic storyboard that stays true to the vibe of the original. The arp gets utilized wonderfully, showcasing more of it's cascading, kaleidoscopic beauty than the original, while being perfectly accented with impassioned vocal phrasing and radiant tones. Gorgeous music from Greg which caps off an exciting return to Stellar Fountain for Mariner + Domingo. Don't miss it.
