Eric Lune – Dreaming Home [Sound Avenue]

Continuing to delight progressive music fans, Eric Lune returns to Madloch's Sound Avenue with 'Dreaming Home'. The long-standing Belgian imprint served as the landing spot for Eric's first ever release, a contribution to the label's popular Summer Sampler series in 2018. The following year saw the Melbourne resident return with 'Embers', a production that now sits as one of the most well received tracks of his career. Guy Mantzur's Plattenbank Records has also served as a comfortable home for Eric, with the Aussie artist releasing six productions on the Israeli imprint across a prolific 2020. Now presenting his first original music of 2021, Eric makes a welcome return to Sound Avenue with 'Dreaming Home'.

With the release of 'Embers' Eric shone a bright light on his musical talent, crafting one of 2019's most memorable melodies. Now eighteen months later he may have eclipsed that accolade with 'Dreaming Home'. Typically impressive, the nine minute journey is one of power and emotion, characterized by a robust key changing groove, glassy melodies and charming effects. A glorious progression finds indistinct vocals adding further depth, drifting in and out of coherence leading into the main break, before a tranquil calm lays the groundwork for a swell of melodic colours and galvanized textures which takes you home.

The companion piece 'Illuminar' impresses with its understated energy and elegant storyboard. Warm, full and undeniably emotive, it's voluptuous groove and rhythmic pulses are transcendent, building momentum as interwoven melodies delight with their playful charm. Further saturating your pleasure centres is a magnificent break, highlighted by sentimental phrasing and redolent arps which unite to spearhead a rousing crescendo and suitably epic finale. It rounds out an invigorating Sound Avenue return for Eric, setting in motion what promises to be a memorable year for the Australian artist.
